Part 1 Session 6 : Enamelling on Copper. In this workshop you will make either your own design or Wendy can help you to design your shape for making your own enamelled brooch or pendant. You will be using a piercing saw to saw out your shape from copper sheet and be shown various enamelling techniques before embarking on your own design. You will be given a piece of copper measuring 5cms x 5cms. You will also enamel onto the piece you cut for the last homework session.

Option A  : Understanding the melting point of metal. Melt a piece of scrap silver into a ball. Look carefully at the colour of the metal as it turns from a solid state to a liquid state. When soldering it is essential to know when to pull away with the torch before you melt your work. Make 2 more bobble using the torch to melt the silver so you have a total of 3 bobbles. These will be made into stacking bobble wire rings further along the course.
